There are many options and variations for recording radio or tv channels.

Usb hard drive or memory stick  connected to an mpeg4(saorview)/satellite combo box .This configuration gives you live pause and timer recording,if you are recording a saorview channel you can watch any other,if recording a satellite channel you can watch any saorview channel or whatever other satellite channels are on the same transponder usually around 6 or 7.

Most stand alone saorview boxes have a usb.

The humax foxsat(see shop) has a hard drive built in and a twin tuner.Like sky+ you can record any satellite channel and watch any other. This box is freesat which means it has a seven day epg and a  series link option .However it will not record digital terrestrial DTT(Saorview)

Technomate have a triple tuner box with usb  (1DTT 2 Satellite)(no hard drive).

There are no Saorview approved satellite or combo boxes or hard drives.
